Areas of Research
- Sunlight Reflection Methods (SRM): SRM is a set of proposed techniques to reflect a small fraction of sunlight back into space to cool the planet and counteract some of the effects of climate change.
- Open-Systems Carbon Removal: Open-systems carbon removal refers to approaches that capture and store carbon dioxide from the atmosphere using natural or engineered processes that don’t rely on closed, industrial-scale facilities.
- Glacial Interventions: Glacial interventions are proposed techniques to slow the melting of ice sheets and glaciers, helping to reduce sea level rise.
- Policy, Ethics, & Governance: Research on policy, ethics, and governance is crucial for understanding how climate interventions like solar geoengineering, open-systems carbon removal, and glacial interventions should—or shouldn’t—be developed and deployed.
