Xiaohan Sally Li joined UChicago as a Research Staff Scientist in the Department of the Geophysical Sciences and the Climate Systems Engineering initiative (CSEi) in 2025. Her research focuses on aerosol microphysics and aerosol–climate interactions, integrating molecular, process, and global scales to improve predictions and inform science-based policy and engineering decisions.
Prior to this role, she was a CIMES Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton University/NOAA GFDL (2023–2025). She earned her Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Princeton University in 2023 and her B.S. in Energy and Resources Engineering from Peking University in 2018.
