Abby Lunstrum is a chemical oceanographer with a research focus on carbon cycling, mineral weathering, and alkalinity generating processes. Most recently, she was a research associate in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied the design, scalability, and environmental impacts of geochemical carbon dioxide removal methods. In addition to Earth Science research, she has also worked in the wind energy industry and in international marine policy. Abby holds a BS in Ecology from the University of Washington, a MS in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia, and PhD in Geologic Sciences from University of Southern California.
