Dongwook Kim is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Climate Systems Engineering initiative (CSEi) at the University of Chicago. His research aims to address a key uncertainty in our understanding of stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI): heterogeneous halogen chemistry on diverse aerosol surfaces and its impact on stratospheric ozone. Prior to joining CSEi, Dongwook Kim received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder where he studied sources and chemistry of atmospheric halogens on a global scale using airborne measurements. He also holds B.S. in Physics from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea.
