Justus Lehtisaari acts as the Head of International Cooperation at the Finnish youth-led climate strategy agency, Operaatio Arktis. His work is focused on strengthening society’s capacity to tackle increasing and compounding climate risks. Coming from a civil society organization, he is also a firm believer in the importance of capacity building to help the public understand emerging issues such as climate interventions. His work in Operaatio Arktis has helped to shift the Finnish climate policy discourse to include nonlinear climate risks in various risk scenarios and has advanced discussion on emerging risk mitigation options, such as climate interventions. In 2025, together with his team, he was awarded the State Award for Public Information as recognition of their work in Finland.
